Default A hammer warrior Named gwen =)

Well I Have been thinking more and more about what my first character should be and I came up with another build. This is a build I have had very little experience with at first hand and have not played around many of these characters. Ill post the build and variants I am considering to use. All help on deciding and helpful hints would be very much appreciated. On a note I am mainly a PvE player so its going to tend to be tailored to PvE.

Project Name: Gwen Ironhammer
Professions: Warrior/Monk or Warrior/Elementalist
Specialty: Hamemer
Current Level: 1 (Release Character)

Build One: Warrior/Monk

Class: Warrior / Monk

Assumed items:
+1 to Strength
+2 to Hammer Mastery

Attributes: (cost)
Strength: 10+1 (61)
Hammer Mastery: 11+2 (77)
Smiting Prayers: 10 (61)

Total attribute points used: 199/200

Skills:
1) Devastating Hammer (availability) (elite) - (7a,0,0) If Devastating Hammer hits, your target is knocked down and suffers from weakness for 18 seconds. This is an elite skill.
2) Crushing Blow (availability) - (5,0,10) If this attack hits, you strike for +17 damage. If you hit a knocked-down foe, you inflict a deep wound, lowering your target's maximum health by 20% for 18 seconds.
3) Mighty Blow (availability) - (7a,0,0) If this attack hits, you strike for +26 damage.
4) Power Attack (availability) - (5,0,4) If this attack hits, you strike for +25 damage.
5) Frenzy (availability) - (5,0,4) For 8 seconds, you attack 35% faster but take double damage.
6) Sprint (availability) - (5,0,20) For 13 seconds, you move 25% faster.
7) Judge's Insight (availability) - (10,2,10) For 16 seconds, target ally's attacks deal holy damage and have +20% armor penetration.
8) Restore Life (availability) - (10,8,0) Touch the body of a fallen party member. Target party member is returned to life with 26% health and 42% energy.

Build Two:

Class: Warrior / Elementalist

Assumed items:
+1 to Strength
+2 to Hammer Mastery

Attributes: (cost)
Strength: 10+1 (61)
Hammer Mastery: 10+2 (61)
Earth Magic: 11 (77)

Total attribute points used: 199/200

Skills:
1) Earth Shaker (availability) (elite) - (10a,0,0) All adjacent foes are knocked down. This is an elite skill. (50% failure chance with Hammer Mastery attribute of 4 or less.)
2) Crushing Blow (availability) - (5,0,10) If this attack hits, you strike for +16 damage. If you hit a knocked-down foe, you inflict a deep wound, lowering your target's maximum health by 20% for 17 seconds.
3) Hammer Bash (availability) - (6a,0,0) Lose all adrenaline. If Hammer Bash hits, your target is knocked down.
4) Counter Blow (availability) - (4a,0,0) If this attack hits an attacking foe, that foe is knocked down.
5) Armor of Earth (availability) - (10,34,15) For 30 seconds, you gain 51 armor, but move 23% slower than normal.
6) Aftershock (availability) - (10,34,10) Nearby enemies are struck for 80 damage. Knocked down characters are struck for 52 additional damage.
7) Sprint (availability) - (5,0,20) For 13 seconds, you move 25% faster.
8) Berserker Stance (availability) - (5,0,30) For 10 seconds, you attack 33% faster than normal and gain 20% more adrenaline each time you hit in melee. Berserker Stance ends if you use a skill.

I am find it a really hard choice on which to choose which version of the build I would like to use if I decide to use this Idea. As I have said above I know very little about this and any experienced people that know what they are doing please aid me. On a ending note I would like to say The Preorder Release is only a few days away and a few days to many ^_^.

In both builds, you have too many energy skills.

In the first build, you want to make sure you're using Frenzy and Judge's Insight as often as possible. You wont be able to use Power Attack or Crushing Blow with any regularity. Ditch them.

Counter blow is a GREAT skill in PVE. It's good in PVP, but you really want to be able to nail monks with it, and you can't be guaranteed they'll attack for you to use counter blow.

The second build has similar energy problems.

The best hammer skills for PVE are:
Earth Shaker
Belly Smash (AOE blind is good for PVE)
Counter Blow- 4A knockdown is great.
....and Mighty Blow, I guess. It's kind of crappy, but there's not much else you can do.

Grab Frenzy or Berserker's Stance. If you're tanking, Frenzy can cause problems.

You might have some success using Earthshaker + Aftershock in PVE, if you learn how to control aggro. I'm not a big fan, but it could work.

Finally, if you need to charge your Adrenal skills quickly, For Great Justice is something to keep in mind. The long recharge timer isn't much of a problem when you can control when to initiate a fight.

P.S. Welcome back MK.
